How the swap works
Choose one recipe from The Joy of Cookies.
Add your name to the Claim Your Recipe sheet.
Bake the cookie you chose at home. Plan to bring about 15 cookies.
Bring them to Lockwood Astoria.
We'll gather around the table and introduce our cookies.
Everyone will portion their cookies into their swap boxes.
Go home with a little box filled with different cookies from the cookbook.
One person, one recipe, no repeats.
This way, we’ll end up with a fun variety of cookies from The Joy of Cookies to share with each other. You can choose a recipe that caught your eye or simply something that sounds delicious. You’ll leave with a box of cookies made by everyone at the table, giving you a chance to taste your way through the cookbook.
What to Bring
One batch of cookies from The Joy of Cookies.
Please bring at least 15 cookies for everyone to have. Don't worry if you're not a professional baker. This is a cookie swap, not a baking competition. A crooked cookie is still a cookie worth sharing.

A Few Things to Know
Do I need the cookbook?
Not necessarily, you can borrow from the library or reach out to Carla if you need help getting a recipe. DM her on instagram @butterboybakingco or email her ButterboyBakingCo@gmail.com
Do I have to make the cookies from scratch?
We'd love for you to make the recipe as written, but this isn't a baking competition. The goal is to try a cookie from the book and share it with the group.
How many cookies should I make?
Plan to bring 15–18 cookies of your chosen recipe. This gives everyone at least 15 cookies to take home while keeping the swap manageable.
What if I’m not a great baker?
Perfect. Come anyway. We're here to try something new, share what we made, and have fun.
Is this a baking class?
Nope! This is a cookie swap and community gathering. There won't be a demonstration or formal instruction. Just cookies, conversation, and a little Sunday afternoon fun.
